A bench that gives form to the land.
[noongar] "Kah-T" - Mountain/Hill
BENCH
2026
Kaat means “mountains” or “hills” in Noongar language. The Kaat Bench draws from this understanding of landform, translating the gentle rises, contours and rhythms of Country into a place to sit, gather and rest together. Parallel aluminium elements follow a continuous curved line, creating a form that feels grounded while remaining visually open.
Constructed from aluminium that is fully recyclable, Kaat balances lightness with durability. Designed to perform across both interior and exterior environments, the bench supports long-term use while maintaining a calm, timeless presence. Its layered form expresses a quiet dialogue between material efficiency, collective use and cultural storytelling.

The Kaat Bench
The Kaat Bench is a sculptural seating element shaped by Noongar understandings of landform, movement, and rest. Named for Kaat, meaning mountains or hills, its form draws from the gentle rises and contours of Country, expressed through five parallel aluminium pipes that follow the same continuous curves as the wider collection. The repeated lines create a sense of rhythm and elevation while maintaining a grounded, horizontal presence within the landscape. Designed for durability and public use, The Kaat Bench balances strength with openness, supporting shared moments of pause and gathering. It is suited to parks, campuses, and civic spaces where people come together within Country.
