The Nyin Table

$0.00

The Nyin Table carries forward the same sculptural language as the Nyin Chair, shaped by Noongar understandings of sitting, gathering, and place. Its continuous curved frame follows the same single line that rises, folds, and returns to itself, creating a grounded yet visually light presence. Set within this form, a curved plate is held gently by the frame, wrapping inward to create a functional surface that feels integrated rather than applied. Designed for durability and public use, the Nyin Table supports moments of pause, meeting, and shared use, and is suited to parks, campuses, and civic spaces where people come together within Country.

The Nyin Table forms part of the Moort collection, extending the Nyin language through a complementary surface for shared use. Drawing from Noongar understandings of gathering, exchange, and time spent together, the table reflects the same softened geometries found across Country, where movement, pause, and connection are held in balance. Its form reads as calm and deliberate, designed to sit comfortably within both natural and built environments.

The table adopts the same continuous curved frame as the Nyin Chair, maintaining a singular flowing line that defines its structure. Within this frame, a curved plate is introduced, held gently by the geometry and wrapping inward to create a functional surface that feels embedded rather than imposed. This relationship between frame and plate reinforces the idea of containment and support, allowing the table to remain visually light while offering clarity of purpose.

Manufactured in Australia in collaboration with Tait, The Nyin Table is made to order using durable, exterior grade materials suitable for Australian conditions. The aluminium frame and integrated plate are finished in a resilient powder coat for longevity and low maintenance. Suitable for civic, landscape, commercial, and residential settings, The Nyin Table supports informal meeting, rest, and shared moments, strengthening the connection between people, place, and Country.

  • CARE + MAINTENANCE

At Moort Designs, we make products for life. Our products are crafted from high-performance materials designed to withstand the elements across our diverse Australian climate zones. We make design decisions with both form and function in mind, combining timeless and cutting-edge designs with beautiful finishes in order to elevate your outdoor (or indoor) experience.

Our collections are handcrafted from weather-resistant materials, making each piece a durable choice. In order to maintain their look and feel over time, Moort items need ongoing care and maintenance. The frequency of maintenance will vary depending on the level of care you want to provide, your personal standards and requirements as well as the environment within which the product lives.

Please refer to the care instructions relevant to the specific materials and finishes of your product, and take note of the warranty details to understand the parameters.

  • CARE + MAINTENANCE

Stainless steel is the top quailty in terms of anti-corrosion, longevity and lower-than-low-maintenance. Here at Moort Designs we use both Electropolished 304 and Fired 304 stainless steel. Looking after it is an easy task.

    DO:

    • Wash your stainless steel pieces regularly with soapy water and a clean cloth

    • Use a non-abrasive cream cleaner or commercial cleaner for more stubborn marks

    • Clean in one direction along the original polish lines

    DO NOT:

    • Use steel wool, scourers or metallic scrapers

    • Allow dirt to accumulate

    • Using abrasive cleaners on the Fired finish may remove the surface colouring

    A WORD ON TEA-STAINING

In a salty sea-air environment, stainless steel can be prone to “tea-staining” (usually within 5km of the surf), recognisable by surface discolouration caused by a build-up of environmental elements.

Tea-staining is no cause for alarm as it is purely cosmetic and does not affect the structural integrity of the material.  An electro-polished finish will reduce the occurrence of tea staining, but should it occur, it will clean right off with hot soapy water and a bit of elbow grease.

  • CARE + MAINTENANCE

Wash regularly with warm soapy water and mild detergent using a soft cloth. For commercial, industrial or marine environments we recommend monthly maintenance. Always rinse well with water, to remove any remaining detergent.

Avoid steam cleaning, pressure washing, abrasive cleansers, steel brushes/wools and cleaners containing chlorine. Avoid scratching the surface by dry dusting. Never use strong solvents to clean powder coated surfaces. Aggressive solvents such as turpentine, white spirits, thinners, citrus based cleaners, Spray and Wipe, and other aggressive solvents are harmful to the extended life of the powder coated surface. Do not allow detritus, organic or man-made matter to settle on the product surface. We recommend removing any buildup of mineral deposits leaching from soils and fertilisers, should it occur on Moort’s planters.

Rough treatment of powder-coated furniture can result in chipping of the coated surface.

Touch-up paint may be purchased on request. It is advisable to repair minor nicks and scratches as soon as they appear.
